We are happy to announce that two colleagues will join us this spring! Vidar and Thomas have been seconded from two of NorCore’s partner offices to cover education and research in the EU, respectively.
Vidar Pedersen joined NorCore in early April and will stay here until mid-July. He is seconded from the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir), where his daily job is as National Agency Director for the education and training parts of Erasmus+, which means that he is responsible for the overall implementation of the programme in Norway. Vidar has also been a member of the steering group for Norcore for several years and is thus well acquainted with the office and its mission.
While at Norcore, Vidar will focus on close contact and dialogue with the European Commission and relevant stakeholders in the education and training communities in the European capital. The groundwork for the next MFF and thus the next generation of European programmes is being laid now and in the coming months, and this is a particularly important time to be in Brussels to learn, glean information and try to influence the decisions being made.

Thomas Evensen is a special adviser at the Research Council of Norway (RCN). He has over two decades’ experience of science communication and external relations, nationally as well as internationally. His current portfolio includes responsibility for national surveys and analysis of public attitudes towards science and innovation, national network for citizen science, and new public engagement initiatives. Thomas is a member of Science Europe's Working Group for Communication, and will spend the months of May and June at the NORCORE offices in Brussels.
