New staff and new trainee at NorCore

This autumn we are happy to welcome two new people to our team! Juni Ramm Haugland will join us as a trainee and Lene Krogh Baldersheim will join us from the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills. They will both stay until Christmas.

Lene is a senior advisor at the department of European cooperation and quality development at the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills. Her area of work is both student mobility and EUs educational programme Erasmus+ in higher education.

Lene emphasizes how the topics of discussion and political processes at the EU-level are highly relevant for the Norwegian higher education sector. «I’m here to learn about the political processes in the EU, strengthen relations with relevant actors, and hopefully also bring back new ideas on how to even better integrate the European dimension and discussions in our work.»

Our new trainee Juni has a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Nord University in Bodø. Her interest for Norway-EU relations led her to University of Agder to pursue a master’s degree in political science with a specialization in European integration. She also spent a semester at LUISS Guido Carli Università in Rome. While she is here in Brussels she will finish her master’s thesis. Previously she has been an intern at the United Nations Association of Norway in Kristiansand. Juni replaces Marthe Skogland Wedøe.

«I am thrilled to be here and to get the opportunity to dive into NorCore’s work on the EU programmes Horizon Europe and Erasmus+, and to learn about its role as a bridge between stakeholders in Norway and Europe in the field of research, education and innovation. I am eager to learn more and get a better understanding on Norways role and work in Brussels.»

We wish Lene and Juni welcome to Brussels!
