Happy New Year!
2022 has sparked off with some new, very interesting initiatives from the Commission. The European Strategy for Universities launched on the 18 January is one of these, outlining a set of actions that should help the Higher Education Institutions in Europe to, among other things, strengthen the European dimension of higher education and research. Some of the actions proposed in the strategy will certainly be the basis of important discussions in the years to come, such as the idea of a joint European degree and legal statute for university alliances. This strategy, together with the proposal for a Council Recommendation issued at the same day, are also paving the way for the European University Alliances in the years to come.
